Get Ready, Get Set...For An Episcopal Summer!

Each June, Episcopal’s summer session brings three-weeks of fun filled activities to “Episcopal Summer Camp.”

Each group’s morning and afternoon sessions are combined, giving children the opportunity to foster new friendships within their classrooms and age groups. Beyond the usual daily classroom activities such as free play, specials, and story time, every day of the summer session explores a new interactive experience for groups to enjoy.

Curriculum comes alive with Animal Man, an Episcopal “camp” favorite, who brings creatures of all kinds for children to observe. Some children may recognize familiar species studied during the school year. Laughter and excitement greet each new critter as groups learn about the diversity of the animal kingdom, and the importance of being kind to the earth and all its inhabitants, big and small.

Classes also learn about neighborhood animal safety with visits from friendly therapy dogs. The dog trainers teach children important questions to ask pet owners they meet on the street before petting any new furry friends.

The joyful month comes to an end with a carnival for groups to enjoy. Games, music, festivities, and Episcopal spirit welcome children in the Chapel for one last celebration. On the last day of the program, classes gather together for a goodbye assembly with the specials teachers to reflect on all the fun that was had this year.
