Full Time Fun in Episcopal's Full Day Program

This September, Episcopal officially launched its full day Pre-K program.

The oldest groups of children at Episcopal will prepare for the transition to kindergarten with a full day of structured activities, free play experiences, new friends, and additional programming.

The longer day provides children with more time to develop socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. During lunch time, children have the opportunity to develop new social skills while initiating conversations with friends at their table. New experiences, like quiet time, help children with emotional regulation and independence. Each Pre-K class also introduces work time, journaling, and letter of the week to their schedules, providing new intellectual challenges to explore both independently and as a group.

The full day program introduces students to three unique enrichment classes designed to provide additional opportunities for learning and community building. These classes, called EXTRAS, will rotate by trimester. Through EXTRAS, children will explore science, art, and literacy with hands-on, carefully curated curriculum that encourages curiosity and excitement for learning. Each trimester, classes will participate in Young Scientists, Young Artists, or Young Authors.

The new full day program will offer each child a strong foundation for ongoing education, enhancing the Episcopal experience in a child-centered and developmentally appropriate way.
